Biddulph & District DOMINO League Rules
Rules

1. All matches to be played on Wednesday nights starting at 8.30pm.

2. Minimum to be provided:
3 tables, 3 sets of dominoes in good order and 3 pegboards.

3a. Each team to consist of a minimum of 6 players.
3b. Each Team match to consist of 3 doubles and 6 singles.
3c) Each Pairs match to consist of 9 doubles.

4. Visiting teams to be given preference of seats.

5. In Team matches the doubles drawn before any games are started.

6. Each game consists of once round a 61 peg board.
The drop is decided on the turn of a domino - odd or even.

7. Games cannot be won on the drop.

8. If it is found that someone has 'knocked' when they could go then the captains must decide if an advantage has been gained. If that is the case then the player is warned and the scores for that hand removed from the peg board. Any repeat in that game will result in the game being awarded to the other player.

9. If a wrong domino is noticed after another domino has been played then the game will continue with that domino in place.

10. At the end of each hand all dominoes not played must be placed face up.

11. The team that wins 5 games or more is awarded 2 points.
Although aggregate is recorded, league positions are decided on points only.
Where required league positions will be decided by a play off.

12. The Home Team must telephone the result to Steve Tellwright on the night of the match – telephone number 07772846661.

13. The Result Card is to show the names of the players and the result of each game. When completed, it is to be checked and then signed by both captains. It must be handed into the next monthly meeting.
If there is a dispute, the result card is to be left unsigned and details of the dispute sent in writing to Steve Tellwright within 48 hours of the match being played. It will then be discussed at the next monthly meeting.

14a) Players can only play for one named team, this also applies if a pub/club has more than 1 team.
14b) For the pairs league, substitutes are allowed but can only play for 1 pair for that week, if required they can play for another pair on future weeks.

15. Any team failing to fulfil a fixture will forfeit the match 5-0.

16. If a team drops out of the league before the halfway point, all points will be removed. If a team drops out of the league after the halfway point the results for the first half of the league will still count.

17a. A team that cannot field a full side may play with 5 players but will forfeit 1 double and 1 single game.
17b. Any pair who cannot provide substitutes will forfeit their games for that week.

18. A team wishing to re-arrange a match must provide their opponents with a minimum of 48 hours notice prior to the date of the match.
The re-arranged game must take place within 4 weeks of the original match. It is the responsibility of the team that cancels the match to re-arrange the new date.

19. The league costs for the season will consist of £60 per team.
£15 is due on registration with a further 3 payments of £15 payable at the next 3 monthly meetings. There is also an additional £15 for the pairs league.

20. Venue for monthly meetings will be the Nelson Inn, Brown Lees.

21. Any matters not covered by the League rules to be decided by the delegates.
